Obituary for Hazel Louise Lambert Thompson Franklin Burrell

Hazel Louise Lambert Thompson Franklin Burrell, 68 years old of Mobile, AL was called home to be with the Lord on June 8, 2022.

Hazel Louise was born on July 19, 1953 to Julius and Mable (Phillips) Lambert in Albany, GA. Years later (1961), Mable married John H. Thompson, Jr. and the family moved to Ellsworth A.F.B. outside of Rapid City, SD (1964). After living in South Dakota for 5 years, the family moved to Ramey A.F.B. near Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Two (2) years later (1971) the family move to McConnell A.F.B. in Derby, KS. Hazel graduated from Derby High School in 1972. She met married Charles Franklin, Jr. and moved to Prichard, AL. and later to Mobile, AL.

Hazel was truly devoted to her family and loved the Lord. She loved everyone and enjoyed cooking and doing for others. She had a green thumb when it comes to plants and especially loved flowers. Hazel was a long time member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church where she as Secretary and Deaconess.

Hazel was preceded in death by husbands Charles Franklin Jr. and Thomas Burrell; mother, Mable P Thompson; father Julius Lambert; father in law Charles Franklin Sr.; brother, Leon Forte; sister, Cynthia L. Parker, and step-father, John H Thompson Jr.
Hazel is survived by her beloved children, Daphne Gradney (Michael Dale), Venus Franklin, Brian Franklin, Eric (LaTisha) Franklin, all of Mobile, AL; precious grand children, Conlen Charles Franklin, Mackenzie Ashanti Pettaway, and Ethan Charles Franklin; sister in laws, Anna Forte, Diane (Calvin) Crosby, Rosa (Maurice) Tyus of Clanton, AL brother in laws Rodney (Priscilla) Franklin, Russell (Karen) Thornton , Dedrick (Cynda) Franklin, brother Julian (Diane) Lambert of NJ; sister, Sally (Alan) Mills of IN; brother, Anglius (Lonzetta) Thompson of TN; sister, Margie (David) McDuffie; brothers, Rickey (Sylvia) Haines and Tyrone Haines both of GA; brother-in-law, Harry Parker of GA; sisters, Bernice (Isaac) Dixon of GA; Michelle Y. (Terry) Fritz, Lisa Thompson of Mobile, AL. and Michelle (Robin) Askew all of GA. In addition, she also survived by twenty-five (25)nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews whom with she also loved to spend time.

Visitation Friday, June 17, 2022 from 4 pm until 8 pm at Small's Mortuary, 950 S. Broad St. Mobile, AL. Visitation will also be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 9am until 11am followed by service at 11 am at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 461 Texas Street, Mobile, AL.
