Obituary for Iona Law Houston

Iona Christine Law Houston - a longtime resident of Mobile, born May 2, 1940 exchanged this life for eternal joy Thursday, February 22, 2007. She was the oldest daughter of Mr. Booker T. Law, Sr. and the late Mrs. Laura A. Law. She was a faithful member of the Church of God Pentecostal MLK under the leadership of Bishop Zackariah Moore and Assistant Pastor Elder Tommy Williams where she remained faithful until her death. She was among the first class to graduate from Blount High School in 1958 after graduation she continued her education at Alabama State Jr. College where she received an Associate Degree in Business. She also attended the University of South Alabama. She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Donald R., Booker T. Jr, Carl G. Sr, and Wilfred O. Law. She leaves to cherish her memories three devoted sons, Leonard Lavon (Sheilia) Houston, and Jeffrey Houston, both of Mobile, and Darrell Keith (Candace) Houston, Daphne; father, Booker T. (Lucille) Law, Sr.; two step-daughters, Patricia, Los Angeles, CA., and Annie Houston, Atlanta, GA., step-son, David Houston, Mobile, twenty-two grands, ten great-grands, two sisters, Rosa Law (Curtis) Young, Gardena, CA., and Cassandra Law (Kenneth) Day, Daphne, three brothers, Moody T. (Norma), Claremont, CA., Harold C. (Helen), Harker Heights, TX. and Timothy L. (Rebecca) Law, Rancho Dominguez, CA., four aunts, Iola Towner, Mobile, Mary (Marion) Spears, Sacramento, CA, Creola Smith, Oakland, CA and Lottie (Andrews) Jackson, Memphis, TN, uncle, William (Fannie) Law, Bellwood, IL, three sisters-in-law, Mary, San Jose, CA, Constance, Corona, CA. and Willie Ann Law, Mobile, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary Friday, March 2, 2007 from 1-8pm and Saturday, March 3, 2007 after 9am until the 11am funeral hour at Nazaree Full Gospel Church. Interment in Pine Crest Cemetery. Dignified and professional services are entrusted to SMALL'S MORTUARY, 950 S. Broad St.
