Sister Irene (Williams) Bright

Sister Irene (Williams) Bright affectionately known as “Wee Baby” was born to the union of Rance Williams and Lillie (Chandler) Campbell on February the first of nineteen forty-one in Whistler, Alabama. She was known as one of the Williams girls from Whistler, Alabama.

Irene earned her high school diploma from Mobile County Training School in Plateau, Alabama. She was one of five daughters to the union of Rance and Lillie Williams.

After graduating high school, Irene met a gentleman by the name Raymond Bright and became the love of her life. Raymond Bright and Irene Williams was united on April the thirteen of nineteen sixty-two. From this union God blessed the union with three children: two sons, Raymond Bright Jr., Rayford Bright, and a daughter, Michele Bright.

After the union, they moved to Trinity Gardens, Alabama where the were received by the community as one of their own. Reverend Dr. Sandy (Julia) Irby were their mentor, confidante, and their babysitter. Irene worked at Scott Paper Company until she retired in nineteen ninety-seven. She was a pilar in her community. She was a member of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist in Whistler, Alabama. The final move was to Eight Mile, Alabama where they purchased a house that was tied to a family home tragedy and turned it into a home of peace and tranquility.

Sister Irene Bright transitioned from the physical life to the spiritual life. God called her home on March the twenty-six in the am. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Bright, her parents, Rance and Lillie Williams, three brothers, Armstead Williams, Nelson and Walter Campbell, two sisters, Genevieve Tyler and Velma Craig.

She leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her life, two sons: Raymond (Karen) Bright Jr., Rayford (Naschenell) Bright of Mobile Alabama; a daughter, Michele Sarita Bright of Huntsville, Alabama; five grand-children: Danielle Bright of Dallas, Texas; Raymond Bright, III of Atlanta, Georgia; Kiera Bright of Whistler, Alabama; Dominique Bell of Huntsville, Alabama; and Jordan Bright of Mobile, Alabama; three great-grandchildren: Ryan Young and Mackenzie Bright of Huntsville, Alabama; Keyston Stallworth of Whistler, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends and two sisters.

She had special bond with her best friend for many years Rosilind Coleman, a loving cousin Julia Brown and a devoted niece, Lena Craig and a devoted nephew, Douglas Craig.
