Obituary for Reverend Sister Irene Rocker

Reverend Sister Irene Rocker, born in Prichard, Alabama, on September 1, 1941, to George and Millie Washington, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, surrounded by family.

Reverend Sister Rocker was a preacher of the gospel, a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She was an ordained minister and biblical scholar that studied to show herself approved of the calling over her life. Until her health failed, she was also a faithful member of the Greater Allenville A.O.H Church of God for over 50 years.

Reverend Sister Rocker traversed this life with the conviction of faith and holiness. She brought smiles to the faces of everyone she met. Her house was everybody's house. Her attire, with matching purses, was always on point.

Her family included eight children, nineteen grandchildren, twenty- three great-grandchildren, and dedicated sons-in-law.

She was predeceased by her parents, former husband Deacon Frank Rocker, three daughters Gwendolyn Shula (Markel and LaDarius), Jacqueline Mack (Trista, Alexander, and Julian), Unitta Rocker
(Jodecy and Jaquan) and her son-in-law, Daryoush Bagheri.

She is survived by five children, Brenda and Dwight Dunning Sr (Dwight Jr, Vicie, and Jennifer - deceased), Sonja Hubbard (Artesia, Michelle, and Ashley) Bridgette Rocker (Brandon and Ny’ Kenya), Jaronica Rocker (Javaris, Javontea, Jamarcus and Jasmine), and Tchernavia Bagheri-Rocker.
She also leaves behind, loving siblings and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, Godchildren, and friends.
