Obituary for Irma Wolfe Jackson

The family of ‘Irma Jean’ Wolfe Jackson is deeply saddened to announce her transition to God‘s kingdom. She passed peacefully at Mobile Infirmary Hospital Mobile Alabama. She was 79 years old.

Irma confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School secretary. She attended Caldwell Elementary School, Dunbar Junior High and graduated from Central High School in 1961 where she was a Sigma Tau. She joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church under Rev. Ernest Scott. Current Pastor Dr, Brian Johnson welcomes and affirms her transition as part of Mt. Olives’s spiritual legacy.

After high school she resided in Los Angeles, Ca. She was employed in the Insurance industry for state the of California for several years. Upon her return she worked as a Unit Secretary at the Mobile Infirmary Hospital and was also employed with Olin Chemical Plant and Ingalls Shipbuilding Co.

She was an avid reader of novels, magazines, and the local Press Register as she understood and enjoyed political conversation. Her favorite hymn was In the Garden as she never met a stranger. To her nieces and nephews, she was a favorite Aunt.

She leaves to mourn sisters, Mary Lucille Wolfe Reese, (Windermere, Ca.), Audrey Loraine Wolfe, (Houston, Tx.), Madelyn Elaine Wolfe, (Mobile, Al), Doretha Dianne Davis, Mobile (Jerry) Lynda Faye Wolfe Smith, (Atlanta, Ga) and brother Andrew Gregory (Barbara) Wolfe, (Mobile, Al.) and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded to His Heavenly Home, along with her parents, Cleveland Alexander and Irma Pearson Wolfe, Sr.; Her brothers and sisters: Cleveland Alexander, Jr., Rufus Nathaniel, Marion Cornelius, Leonard LeBaron, Allen Clifton Sr., Margaret Ophelia Walker, Thelma Selita Yates, Carrie Catherine Houston and Frances Delores.

Special thanks to Mt. Olive Baptist Church (Lexington Avenue, Mobile) who provided a seat for her at the table, served as her refuge in times for spiritual need and her neighborhood family. Blessings to the staff and family of patients of Ashland Health and Rehabilitation, LLC, who prayed, walked and checked on her daily. Irma, we love you; yes, we love you. But Jesus Loves you more. Her last words to Madelyn, “In the Morning”- Irma Jean
