Obituary for Jacqulyn Jackson

Ms. Jacqulyn Jackson transitioned from life to life more abundantly, and rests in the care of Almighty God. She was born in Mobile, AL, March 18, 1946 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew and Aimee (Coleman) Jackson. Her brother, Andrew Jackson, Jr. and her nephew, Samuel A. Jackson, Jr. also precede her in death.
Jacqulyn, a resident of Mobile, AL, was an early graduate, at the age of 16, of Central High School in the class of 1962. Shortly after matriculation, she moved to Los Angeles California, where she lived briefly before returning to Mobile and acquiring a job with WALA TV10. While employed there, she received multiple employee awards for her outstanding work performance. During her life, she also held numerous important positions in local retail and service management industries. Jacqulyn’s experiences in these various fields garnered her many lifelong friends and much valuable experience. Jackie, as she was affectionately known, was employed most notably for The SMG Management Group from 1994 until heavenly transition. There she brought culture to family, friends, and the city of Mobile as a whole. She served as Box Office Manager and Culture Curator for two of Mobile’s premier entertainment epicenters, The Saenger Theater and the Mobile Civic Center. During her tenure as Box Office manager, she had an impact on the lives of countless scores of people throughout the city, state, and nation with her unassuming disposition and gentle caring nature, and consummate professionalism. During her free time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with and caring for her dog, SHY.
In 1997, Jackie became a member of her beloved church, Disciples of Almighty God. She loved her church dearly, attended, and worshiped faithfully. Her church family remarked, “Where ever there is a praise, she will be there”, as she loved to magnify the name of God and bear witness to his goodness. She served faithfully and dutifully wherever needed in the church, always seeking to uplift her spiritual brothers and sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memory her only child, devoted son Travis Jackson Bradley; her brother Samuel (Gurley) Jackson, Sr.; sister-in-law, Johnetta Sanders; two devoted nieces Paquita Jackson, and Aimee V. Jackson-Walton; nieces Kimberly Loveless and Rae and Kristen Bell whom she regarded as daughters and granddaughters; one first cousin to whom she was a caretaker, Neal Coleman, as well as a host of other devoted and loving nieces, cousins, co-workers and friends both near and far
