Obituary for James Louis Evans II

James Evans II affectionately known as “Lil James” was born on February 2, 1961 to James Evans, Sr and Rosie Evans. He departed this earthly realm for his heavenly home on May 9, 2022.

James graduated from Lillie B Williamson in the year of 1979 and entered the Coast Guard from 1979-1983. Shortly thereafter, James furthered his career by obtaining a Seaman Captain License working as a Seaman from 1995-2001. Later returning home, James gained employment with the Alabama State Docks for 18 years, starting November 2004 till recent date of passing. James served as an usher and deacon at the Greater Mt Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of his father Pastor James Evans Sr.

James Evans Jr was a devoted father who is survived by 4 kids and 4 bonus daughters. Cashuan (Jerrell) Nored, Jacquese Womble, James Evans III, Jarious Evans, Latrice (Emanuel) Wiggins, Octavia Hill, Imani (Cantrell) Batten, and Isis Stanley. 4 Grandchildren; Jaycelyn Brown, Jaliyah Taylor, James Evans IV, and Niko Levon Evans. Devoted friend, mother of James sons Vanessa Byard. Devoted Friend Steve Ponquinette. 3 devoted cousins; Carol Holloway, Desiree Crawford, and Joan Abrams and a Host of aunts, uncles, cousins, cohorts and friends. James will be missed dearly by family, friends and all that knew and loved him.
