Joann 'JoJo' Smith Banks a native and resident of Bayou La Batre, AL was born March 25, 1953. She was called home to be with her Savior on March 19, 2020. She is preceded in death by her mother and father Heron and Beactice Burks grandmother Mary Ann Coe and brother Jim Dailey. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving devoted husband of 47 years Louis Banks. Four children: Tyrell (Gwendolyn) Smith of Irvington, AL Tammy Banks,Tyrone Banks both of Bayou La Batre, AL and Tasha (Tyrone) Pogue of Irvington, AL. Nine grandchildren DeTerin (Talisha) Smith, Zykeaiah Banks, Samira Banks, DaTerria Smith, Sailor Tirey Banks, Marissa Banks, Latia Banks, Nia Banks and Montrell Pogue. Seven greatgrand children: Dominic Smith, Aken Smith, Dallis Smith, Brandon Williams Jr. Brooklyn Smith, Braylon Williams and Tylen Blakely. Mother in law: Ida Yates, of Milwaukee Wis. Brothers: James Burks of Grand Bay, AL. Lawernce( Dorothy) Burks Pascagoula, MS. Karl Burks of Bayou La Batre, AL Micheal (Anita) Burks of St. Elmo AL, Leroy (Jackie) Johnson of Moss Point, MS. Sisters: Zetta (Clifton) Bowie and Chanta Burks both of Bayou La Batre, AL. Cousin/Sister: Selma Smith of GA. Sister in laws: Louise Thompson of CA.
