Obituary for Johnnie Lee Jackson Sr.

SUPERINTENDENT
JOHNNIE LEE JACKSON, SR.
DECEMBER 8, 1957 - FEBRUARY 14, 2021

Superintendent Johnnie Lee Jackson Sr., a native of Mobile, Alabama was born on December 8, 1957, to the union of the late Deacon Willie and Maggie Jackson Sr. Superintendent Jackson was a faithful member of Mt. Sanai Missionary Baptist Church. He was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 14, 2021.

He was an Alumnae of Ben C. Rain High School. He served in the Marine Corps from 1976-1980. In 1979, while being stationed in California Superintendent Jackson dedicated his life to Jesus Christ and was filled with the Holy Ghost.

Superintendent Jackson returned home in 1980 where he was a faithful Deacon and Elder at Dollie Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent James Simon. While there the Lord sent him the LOVE of his life, Glenda Fleeton. On April 10, 1982 the union of Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Jackson Sr. was formed.

Superintendent Jackson was not only a faithful servant for the Lord, but also to his employer Kimberly Clarke formally known as Scotts Paper Company. He was employed on August 8, 1980 and served faithfully for thirty-nine years, only missing one day.

Superintendent Jackson founded Faith and Prayer House Church of God in Christ in March of 2003. Superintendent Jackson coined some of his favorite sermons “I’m Glad That I Don’t Have to Preach About a Dead God” and “Tell Hell I Ain’t Coming”. His sermons will forever live on in our hearts. In 2012, he was appointed as Superintendent of the Joy District. Later, he was appointed 3rd Administrative Assistant by Bishop Philip A. Gardner Sr.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Irene Springs and Mary Duncan; Brothers-in-law, Deacon Jessie Fleeton and William Duncan.

Superintendent Jackson leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and faithful wife, First Lady Glenda Jackson of thirty-eight years and ten months; three loving and devoted sons: Johnnie (April) Jackson, Jr., Jairus (Tiffany) Jackson, Sr. and JaVarrus Jackson; three loving grandchildren: Jairus Jr., Aiden and Ariyana; three brothers: Deacon Willie Jackson, Jr., Deacon Andrew (Shirley) Jackson and A.C. (Geraldine) Jackson; two sisters: Della Jackson and Jackie Crusoe; sister-in-law, Adlean Blankenship; two devoted sisters-in-law: Gloria Montgomery and Linda (Hezikah) Ward; four brothers-in-law: Joseph Fleeton, Rufus Fleeton, Leo (Theresa) Fleeton, Wali Mustfa, and James Springs, I; a host of nieces and nephews, devoted nieces and nephews: Crystal Ward, Ishmael (Danielle) Ward, Timon Ward, Zakiyyah Ward, Jeremiah Ward, Kinsleigh Ward and Kyng Ward; cousins, devoted Faith and Prayer House Church of God in Christ Church Family.
Superintendent Jackson fulfilled his earthly duties and now taking his rest with the heavenly father.
