Obituary for Johnnie Ledell Moore Jr.

Mr. Johnnie Ledell Moore, Jr., devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, community servant, friend, cousin and father figure to the numerous children which he and his wife welcomed into their family as if they were his own, departed this
life on September 9, 2020. A resident of Mobile, AL, he was born on August 6, 1953 and he was preceded in death by his father Johnnie Ledell Moore, Sr., mother Agatha Moore, sister Ora Thompson and brother, Grady L. Moore.

Mr. Moore retired from Kimberly-Clark formerly Scott Paper Company in 2008 where he was a dedicated employee for 32 (Thirty-Two) years. He attended Dunbar Middle School, Central High School and graduated from Murphy High School in 1971. He also attended the University of South Alabama, Bishop State Community College and Minot College of Business in, Minot, North Dakota. Johnnie proudly served his country in the United Stated Air Force in Command and Control as an Air Traffic Control Specialist in Minot, North Dakota and received an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force in 1974.

Johnnie fell in love with his wife Darlene Clemon-Moore in the 9th grade at Dunbar Middle School and they have been married for over 43 years. Johnnie and Darlene were joined together in holy matrimony as husband and wife on March 5, 1977 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Mobile, AL.

Johnnie leaves to cherish the memories of his many blessed talents and superhero life his devoted wife of 43 years Darlene Clemon-Moore; Children: Yevette Nicole Moore, Sonja (Aundra) Moore-Dennis both of Mobile, AL, Shakira (Juan) Moore-McCants, of Arlington, VA, Devoted sister Shirley Ann Moore, devoted brother-in-law, Cleo (Alice) Brown, sister-in-law Alton Herman, two devoted nephews Lynard Ledell Moore and Joseph E. Thompson, Jr, niece and great nephew Tina Moore-Frank and Courtney Moore and a devoted cousin Lee Williams. Grandchildren who he loved dearly: Kaylin Monique Marie McCants and Karmen Jenea Nicole McCants of Arlington, VA, Tony F. Dennis of Mobile, AL and Juan Isom McCants of Arlington, VA;. Devoted adopted sons Michael (Charlotte) Peoples of Cumming, GA and Greg Nettles of Monoreville, AL; Adopted daughters Shanell Dunn and Mable Dunn of Mobile, AL, Alisa (Tyrone) Wiley, Ukawia Johnson and Donatta Jackson of Mobile, AL Devoted friends and Co-workers Reginald Williams and Norman Towner of Mobile, AL adopted and devoted brother Bernard Smith of Mobile, AL and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, loving neighbors, Kimberly-Clark (Scott Paper Company) Co-workers, relatives and friends.
