Johnny Lee Archard, Sr. was born July 2, 1947 to Velma Perkins of Pinehill Alabama and William Archard of Birmingham, AL. Johnny was a resident of Mobile, AL for many years. God called him to his eternal home on Monday, July 24, 2023.
Johnny started his Christian learning as a child in the Pinehill First Baptist Church.
Johnny was a graduate of Mobile County Training School where he played on the football team. Johnny was enlisted in the United States Army where he served active duty in Vietnam.
Johnny was employed by the United States Postal Service for thirty years of dedicated service. He retired in October of 2004.
Johnny was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Perkins; devoted aunt, Barnett Crenshaw; devoted uncle, Fred Crenshaw; and devoted cousin, Arcolar Perkins.
Johnny leaves to cherish his memories, to his loving wife of twenty-eight years, Benita Archard; two devoted children: Johnny Archard, Jr. and Latasha Archard; one grandson, Gerald Archard; mother-in-law, Jellene Norwood; five sisters-in-law: Barbara (Jeffrey) Smith of Mt. Vernon, NY, Irma (Robert) McCants, Thelma Williams, Carolyn Norwood and Rosie (Guy) Hudson all of Mobile, AL; one brother-in-law, Clifford (Betty) Norwood of Atlanta, GA; two devoted friends: Angie Day Brown and Sandra Maiben; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
