Joyce Onita Browne was born August 22, 1951 and departed this earthly life on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. She was preceded in death by her father, John Lee Brown, Sr.; mother, Virginia Ezell Brown; and brother, Robert Lee Brown, Sr.
Joyce worked for over 20 years as an administrative assistant at the Prince William County Senior Center in Woodbridge, VA. She became an essential part of the staff and an advocate for the elderly, retiring in 2010.
Upon retirement, she fulfilled her lifelong dream, becoming a successful entrepreneur, as owner operator of Majestic Cleaning and Janitorial Services in her hometown of Mobile, Alabama.
Joyce was a lifelong member of Whitestone Baptist Church and served as a Pastor’s Aide, and on the Missionary and Trustee Boards. Her faith never wavered. Throughout her life, she loved others immeasurably, truly living out the Father’s Commandments. Her acts of love will continue to live on in the lives of those who she impacted.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jay Edgerton Browne Jr. and a son, Dominik Antonio (Melissa), along with two lovely granddaughters, Korin Elizabeth and Marli Anne; brothers, Marion (Barbara) Brown, John (Ruth) Brown, Harion (Joyce) Brown, Furman (Elaine) Brown and devoted sister, Elizabeth (Michael Porter) Brown.
Joyce is also survived by several family members including sisters-in-law, Essie Bufford and Marva Gullette & brother-in-law, William Taylor; devoted nieces, Erica York, Carnetta Spears, nephews, Marion Spears, Wil Brown, and Michael Brown; great nephews, Darin Brown and Michael Brown Jr. Makai Brown; great niece Zhy’Keria Brown-Hill; cousin Gloria Patterson-Godfrey, and numerous family and friends.
