Obituary for Katie Mae Cunningham

Katie Mae Cunningham-Turner was born July 27, 1950 Millry, AL, to the late Ossie Mae Cunningham and Edgar Leverett. She left Alabama in in the late 60’s to live in Florida where she was united with her then husband the late Jimmie Lee Turner. In the earlier 90’s she remarried the late Emmerson Morris.
On February 04, 2020 the Lord, in His gentle voice called Katie’s name, he whispered, “Come my child and take your rest, your work here is done”.
She leaves to cherish her memories, the loving and devoted daughters: Shelia Denise Turner of Miami, FL, Takayo Aretha Love (Eddie) of Lubbock, TX and Belinda Michelle Turner of Coral Springs, FL. She had one son who preceded her in death, Robert Pernell Turner. She has seven brothers: the late JohnnyCunningham, Edgar (JR) Leveret of Mobile, AL, James (JC) Leverett of Mobile, AL, Lewis Cunningham (Gloria) of Mt. Vernon, AL, Melvin Johnson (Diane) of Mobile, AL, Bobby Johnson (Patricia) of Wildwood, FL and JT Williamson (Shannon) of
Sandusky, OH; a nephew who was more like a brother, Levoid Cunningham of Miami, FL; a devoted cousin that
was so close to her she called her little sister, Ms. B.J. Johnson-Hollins of Mt. Vernon, AL; her riding buddy and cousin, Rubye Johnson of South Miami, FL; sixteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friend.
