Obituary for Kattie Laurine Scott

Mother Kattie L. Scott, a native of Marengo County, Alabama, was born March 17, 1937 in Sweetwater, Alabama. She departed this life on May 1, 2019 at Allen Health and Rehabilitation facility. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Walter and Rosanna King, husband, Fred Scott, two brothers, Charlie E. King and Clifford E. King of San Antonio, Texas, and five sisters, Missionary Rosie Holt, Mother Mary Hudson, and Mother Theresa Dixon all of Mobile, Alabama; Aletha Lockett, Gary, Indiana, and Ethelene Lewis, Sweetwater, Alabama. Mother Scott was an active member of the Greater Allenville A.O.H. Church of God where she served on the Mother’s Board, Trustees Board, Sunday School Teacher, and Hospitality Committee. She served tirelessly until her health declined. She loved to cook, sing, write poetry, read the bible, and spend time with her family. She retired from the City of Mobile Parks and Recreation Department after many years of service and worked as a supervisor for Diversified Maintenance.

Cherishing her beautiful memories are two sons, Steve Scott-King and Ronald (Addie) Scott of Mobile, Alabama; one devoted daughter, Acquanita Westry of Mobile, Alabama; six grandchildren: Karlicia Simpson of Mobile, Alabama, Kimberly (Derrick) Thomas of Pensacola, Florida, Ronald Brown of Norfolk, Virginia, Kewanna (Michael) Williams of Mobile, Brandon Brown of Mobile, Alabama, and Shaquandra (Samuel) Curtis of Mobile, Alabama; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three devoted friends: Mrs. Carrie McMillan, Mrs. Della Gandy, Ms. Northa Lee Edwards and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thanks to the staff of Allen Health and Rehabilitation facility, Kindred Hospice, and Greater Allenville A.O.H. Church of God family.
