A native of Mobile, Alabama and a longtime resident of Aurora, Illinois, Kelvin L. King peacefully transitioned into eternity on April 13, 2021.
On January 1, 1961, Kelvin was born at St. Martin de Porres hospital. Accepting Christ at an early age, Kelvin was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist church in Mobile, Alabama.
A member of the marching band and graduate of Ben. C. Rain High School, Kelvin matriculated at Alabama A & M University.
Answering the call to serve his country, Kelvin enlisted into the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged as a Persian Gulf Veteran. He continued his service to his country as a Naval reservist until relocating to Aurora, Illinois.
Throughout his career at both Nissan and O’Reilly Auto Parts companies, Kelvin obtained numerous certifications, awards and several associate degrees.
Kelvin was a lifelong University of Alabama Roll Tide Football fan, Chicago Bulls fan (until Michael Jordan’s retirement), Cars enthusiast and an avid traveler. A great cook and foodie; his specialties were soul food and Mexican cuisine. His quirky humor and pranks will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Thomas and Fannie King, Lish and Nicola Taylor and bonus father, Fred D. Randall.
To cherish his memories Kelvin leaves the following: Father - Thomas King Jr., Mother - Margie T. Randall, Daughter - Danica King; four Sisters - Bridgette King, Felecia (Tony) Onyeabo, Kimberly King and Angela (Easton) Manradgh, Niece - Adaora Onyeabo, two Nephews - Rashad Manradgh and Ajay Manradgh, Other family members - Bertha King, Tommy Timmons, Nicola Summers and numerous other loving relatives and friends.
On May 1, 2021 at 11am, interment will be held at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens, 8951 Old Pascagoula Road, Theodore, AL 36582.
