Obituary for Kitchen Manning Sister

Sister Anna Kitchen Manning - born November 25, 1918 to the union of the late Thomas and Trudy Kitchen, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007. She was the eldest of four sisters. A Georgia native Sister Manning moved to Jersey City, NJ where she met and married the late Graham Manning, to that union 3 children were born. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Newark Church of Christ and after retiring to Mobile, AL, she continued in her Christian faith at the Andrews Street Church of Christ until her untimely death. She was preceded in death by two children, John Thomas Manning and Gail Manning; two sisters, Gladys Senter and Gertrude Samuels; grandson, Dennis John Williams. She leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Ann Starling of Jersey City, NJ; loving sister, Lessie K. Cooper, Mobile, AL; devoted great granddaughter, Sharifa "She-She" (Kip) Smith; great great grandson, Kiye Smith, both of Jersey City, NJ; devoted nephew, Williowdene (Diane) Williams, Willingboro, NJ; loving goddaughter, Hope Thompson of Mobile, AL; special friends, Annette Wallace, Birmingham, AL, Debra and Charlie Caine, Mobile, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, church family, other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in state at Small's Mortuary, Friday, April 13, 2007 from 1-8 p.m. and Saturday, April 14, 2007 after 9 a.m. at Andrews Street Church of Christ, Andrews Street until the 11 a.m. funeral hour. Bro. Freddie Peterson, Pastor and officiating minister. Interment will follow in Whispering Pines Cemetery.
