Obituary for Lakenya A. Pettway-Witherspoon
LaKenya Andria “Kenya” Pettway Witherspoon was a native and lifetime resident of Mobile, Alabama. She was born on April 27, 1975 to Saul Nettles and Mary Jo Pettway. She exchanged life for eternity suddenly on Friday, March 12, 2021.
LaKenya was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and aunt. She loved her family and children. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by late husband, Arnold “Pete” Witherspoon, brothers, Jessie James Hunter and Earnest Pettway, Jr. and niece, Crystal Roscoe.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted mother, Mary Jo Hunter; three loving and devoted children: daughters, JaKayla S. Jones and Jabria D. Pettway-Hunter and son, Robert J. Jones, Jr.; one sister, Tracy G. Hunter; one brother, James D. Pettway; four grandsons: Presley R. Jones, Aspen R. Jones, Colton T. Jones and Kylan E. Thomas; future son-in-law, John P. Thomas; a loving companion, Josie Scruggs; a childhood best friend, Tresha Seaborn; a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
