Obituary for Larry Jerome Kidd

Reverend Larry Jerome Kidd, affectionally known by many as “Unk” was born January 11,
1957 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Elouise Kidd and Ruben Bellotti. He departed this life on
Thursday, July 13, 2023 in Mobile, AL, surrounded by family.
Rev Kidd was a proud track and field star at Lillie B. Williamson High School where he earned
the title as Most Valuable Track Star and a graduate of the Class of 1975. Rev Kidd served two
years in the United States Army and retired from Stauffer Chemical Plant. Rev Kidd also
graduated from Bishop State Community College where he received a degree in Early Childhood
Education as well as Business Administration.
Rev Kidd accepted his calling into the ministry at the age of 21 under the leadership of Reverend
Henry Williams at First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church, where he preached his initial sermon.
In the early 80s he served as the pastor of Pinegrove Missionary Baptist in Loxley, AL. Later,
Rev Kidd became a member of Delaware Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an
assistant minister for many years.
In addition to his parents, Rev Kidd was also proceeded in death by one brother, Thomas Kidd;
and three sisters Edith Kyser, Linda Turner, and Vivian Hall.
Rev Kidd leaves to cherish his memory three sons: Landria Carstarphen of Mobile, AL, Jerome
(Kimberly) Kidd of Snellville, GA, and Keith Kidd Sr. of Daphne, AL. Five beautiful
grandchildren: Rhianna, Keith Jr., Ethan, Roman, and Eden; one brother Wayne (Mickie) Kidd of
Crestview, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. His
godmother Ann Kidd Carson and family and his godfather Rev Thamus L. Douglas Jr. and
family.
Unk loved his family and his family loved him. His energetic spirit, charismatic demeanor, and
beautiful smile were sure to draw attention and light up any room he entered. He will truly be
missed but his legacy will forever live on through his family.
