Obituary for Lawrence Sessions

Deacon Lawrence Sessions, a native of Mobile, Alabama was born December 1, 1945 to Willie and Amanda Jackson. He left to be with our Lord on December 13, 2019. Deacon Sessions was welcomed at his arrival by his father, mother, brothers, sisters, and grandson.

Deacon Sessions accepted Christ at an early age. He graduated from Central High School, Class of 1965. He was ordained as a deacon of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, No. 1 under the leadership of Pastor Ernest G. Scott, where he also taught Sunday School. He met the love of his life during the summer of July 1965. They were united in marriage on May 6, 1968 and were married for 51 years.

We take comfort in knowing that he is now resting peacefully in God’s arms. Deacon Sessions leaves to cherish his loving memories a devoted wife, Gloria Sessions of Mobile, Al.; one brother, Louis Jackson of San Antonio, Tx.; one son, Tony Sessions of Mobile, Al.; three daughters, Ericka Midgett (Romero) of Madison, Ms.; Chasity Jackson (Maurice) of Mobile, Al.; and Krystle Randolph (Reginald) of Clarksville, Tn; one Godson, Dejuan Washington of Mobile, Al.; two brothers-in-law, Willie Sanders (Mildred) of
Pomona, Ca,; Ricky Chaney (Denise) of Mobile, Al.; three sisters-in-law, JoAnn Pugh, of Mobile, Al.; Paulette Chaney of Mobile, Al.; and Beverly Kenny (Dalarian) of Cedar Hill, Tx.

The apples of his eye, his 14 loving grandchildren, Keyon Sessions; Breyunna Sessions; Katelyn Jackson; Koby Jackson; Maurice Jackson, II; Eryn Wells; Reginald Je’Von Randolph, II; Bella Jackson; Micah Randolph; Jeremiah Randolph; Hannah Midgett; Sarah Midgett; Skye Jackson; and Tyler Randolph; and two great-grandchildren, Kiyah Soutullo and Kamden Sessions.

Deacon Sessions truly loved and cherished a host of devoted nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends; and the Mt. Olive Church family.
