Obituary for Lee Grayson Garmon Sister

Sister Mary Lee Grayson Garmon - the widow of Elijah Garmon Sr., affectionately known as "Madear" daughter of the late Will and Daisy Grayson. A native of Wagarville, AL and resident of Mobile, AL, for over 60 years, peacefully exchanged this life for eternity on Wednesday morning, June 20, 2007 at a local hospital. She was a faithful and longtime member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in the Cottage Hill Community, an active member of the Order of Eastern Stars, Veronica Chapter 125, and a client and Scripture Reader at the Lilly Baptist Adult Daycare Center. Sister Garmon's precious memories are cherished by many loved ones and friends. Three daughters, Minister Etta G. Baldwin, Garnet Valley, PA, Dr. Jacquelyn G. Ruffin, Mobile, AL and Dr. Sandra G. Bibb, Silver Spring, MD; one son, Elder Elijah (Deborah) Garmon, Jr., Aurora, IL; ten grandchildren, Melanie and Kimberly Baldwin, Garnet Valley, PA, Deacon Everage (Mary) Thomas, III, Bryan David Thomas, Mobile, AL, Amie Marie (Robert) Berry, Jacksonville, FL, Deacons Rodney and Monica Moss, Newport News, VA, LeJean, Marcus and Terrance McDowell, Aurora, IL; four great grandchildren, Miles Elijah Thomas, Meghan and Micha Moss, Payton Denise, Thomas and Justice McDowell; two sisters, Bessiie Mae Norwood, Wagarville, AL, Ella Me Braggs, Los Angeles, CA; brother-in-law, Deacon Joshua (Loretta) Garmon, Mobile, AL; devoted cousins, deacon Clifton and Laura Garmon and family; devoted church family Pastor and Mrs. Rudolph Overstreet, many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in state at SMALL'S MORTUARY, Sunday, June 24, 2007 from 1-5 p.m. and Monday, June 25, 2007 after 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral hour at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Cottage Hill.
