Obituary for Deacon Lendberg "Pop" Charles Kirksey
Deacon Lendberg Kirksey, a resident of Mobile, AL was born June 9, 1937.
He exchanged life for eternal rest on Wednesday, January 7, 2021 at 12:05 A.M.
He loved the Lord and his church. He also loved his family and they loved him. His favorite scripture was Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.”
He was employed with Turner Supply Company for forty years and retired May 9, 2006.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Corina Kirksey; parents, Dock (Mamie) Kirksey; brother, Bennie Kirksey; and grandson, Xavier Murray.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, six devoted children: Dorothy Barren, Linda Murray, Charles Kirksey, Gregory (Sherrel) Kirksey, Gale (Ray) Taylor and Gwendolyn Kirksey all of Mobile, AL; two brothers-in-law: Frank King and Aaron (Dorothy) King both of Mobile, AL; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends: one devoted: Elizabeth Holloway.
