We would like to thank the Family of Mother Leo York-Holt for entrusting Small's Mortuary with the Final and most sacred arrangements of their loved one.
Mother Leo York Holt was born in Stockton, AL and was the youngest of five children in the union of the Robert York and Eliza Smith.
She grew up in the Stockton community where she was very active. Leo helped to start the first community day care center in Stockton. She loved helping people in Stockton and the surrounding areas. Even before she volunteered with Baldwin County’s RSVP, where she assisted in the White Christmas, LIHEAP and so many
other projects, she was known to deliver bread and sweets to many. Leo’s greatest and longest love was to her church, Zion Fountain A.M.E. Zion Church, Stockton, where she accepted Christ at an early age. She served on many boards and in many capacities, one being the 1st lady of her home church. She served God and his people for many years until her health began to fail.
Leo was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, her husband, Rev. J.F. Holt and her daughter Minister Edith Jackson.
She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Margaret Jones and Debra Fields , Stockton, AL and Minister Marlette Holt, Saraland, AL; nine grandchildren, Shawn (Debra) Jackson and Tarance (Connie) Jones, Bay Minette, AL, Christopher (Stacey) Fields, Tavares, FL, Reginald (Joanna) Fields and LaTonya (Jeremy) Washington, Stockton, AL, Khori Fields, Saraland, AL, LeChandra Fields, Stockton, AL, Khaleb and Jacob Brooks, Saraland, AL; twenty-one great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews,great-nieces, great-nephews and many other family, friends and loved ones.
