Obituary for Lindell Deloris Cleveland (Cleveland)

Lindell Deloris Cleveland was born September 29, 1960 to the union of
Wilhelmenia and Willie Cleveland in Mobile, AL. Lindell was called to
rest on Thursday, July 27, 2023 to continue a peaceful eternal life with our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Lindell accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Carmel Baptist church and
was a faithful member of New Faith Baptist church with Rev Allen B.
McDaniel Sr. before moving to Birmingham, AL.
Lindell attended Lillie B. Williamson High School and was a graduate of
the Class of 1978 in Mobile, AL. She was member of the marching band.
She continued her education at Bishop State Community College,
graduating in the Class of 2003. There she studied Business
Administration. God saw fit that her career and life purpose align as she
spent the last several years as an in-home caregiver.
Lindell, affectionately known as “Lynn” and “Nanny Lindell”, had a
vibrant spirit that radiated wherever she went. Family and friends were the
center of her world and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Lindell enjoyed cooking, traveling, and caring for others. It was not
uncommon for her to feed several family members and friends each week
and routinely give to others.
As a mother, Lindell nurtured April with unconditional love and support.
She instilled values of faith, family and compassion for others. Her
friendships were genuine and lasting- a testament to the incredible person
she was. We will forever cherish the memories shared with Lindell.
Her legacy of love, generosity and family will continue to inspire us and be
a guiding light in our lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilhelmenia and Willie
Cleveland, three sisters: Mary Lucille Boone, Gwendolyn Cleveland-Lucy
and Sharon Elizabeth Williams; three brothers: Ledell Cleveland, Sr.,
Franklin Delano Cleveland and Joseph Boone; and her nephew, Archie
Thomas Lucy.
Lindell leaves to cherish her memory, one loving daughter, April
Cleveland of Birmingham, AL; three sisters: Shirley Wilson, Deborah
Cleveland and Charlotte Cleveland; three brothers: Willie Charles
(Barbara) Cleveland, James Cleveland of Birmingham, AL and Dennis
Cleveland; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and
friends.
