Obituary for Luebertha Flott-Manuel

On May 8, 2023 - The Angels of God whispered:
"Luebertha, come now and take your rest.”
Luebertha Flott-Manuel was born December 7, 1943 to the
union of Vivian Mitchell-Flott and Alex Flott. She departed this
earthly life on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Springhill Memorial
Hospital.
She was born in Mount Vernon, Alabama and moved with her
parents to Chicago, IL at a very young age. She spent most of her
adult life in Chicago and moved back to her hometown of Mount
Vernon after her retirement in 2005.
Luebertha was very inquisitive and got a thrill out of completing
crossword puzzles. The highlight of her life was spending time
with her immediate family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vivian Mitchell-Flott
and Alex Flott; her husband, Oscar Manuel; her sister, Dorothy
Flott-Harris; and her brother, Alexander Flott.
Luebertha leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Lueritha
(Timothy) Smith-Ward; three grandchildren: Nicholas Ward, Elliott
Ward and Victoria Ward; a brother, John Flott; a sister, Lynda
Flott; one nephew, Jonathan Harris; one uncle, Nathaniel Chapman;
three aunts: Dorothy Mae Scott, Deloris Jackson and Ella Mae
Williams; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
