Obituary for Maggie Mae Pruitt (Cowan)

Maggie Mae (Cowan) Pruitt, a long-life resident of Mobile, AL was born May 7, 1939 to the late Jerman Sr. and Lillie Mae (Howell) Cowan in Morvin, Clarke County, AL. She was married to Earnest Pruitt for 20 years. After a long battle with Alzheimer’s she departed this life on Monday August 26, 2019 at Crowne Health Care of Mobile. She was one who always greeted you with an infectious smile. She brought joy to those around her and will be deeply missed.
She confessed her life to Christ at an early age and joined Givenland C.M.E. Church in Bashi, AL. She later moved to Mobile, AL and united with Central Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a faithful member in the gospel choir until her disease took over.
She is proceeded in death by her parents and siblings. Charles “CP” Jones, Leveston “Pete” Cowan, George Cowan, Jerman Cowan Jr., Mattie Mae Foster, Dorotha Mae Cowan, Etta B. Cowan, and Mildred Mae Cowan.
She leaves to celebrate her memories two daughters, Katrenia Pruitt and Yolanda (Kennedy) Todd both of Mobile, AL. Six grandchildren (all girls), April Pruitt, Kendra (Arnold) Bethel Jr., Kenisha Todd, Derika Pruitt, Kenyatta Todd, and Kayla Pruitt, all of Mobile, AL. One brother-in-law Willie James Grayson of Thomasville, AL. Devoted god-children, Donald Craig, Jalen Tolbert, Kimberly Bonner-Rankins, Christina Arnold, and Tara Steele-Mackie. Also, a host of dedicated nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
