Obituary for Marilyn Elaine Lee

Marilyn Elaine Lee passed away peacefully at Hackensack-UMC Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, NJ on Sunday, May 7, 2023. She was 67 years old.

She was born on September 5, 1955, in Mobile, Alabama at City Hospital to Clarence Lee, Sr. and Lelar Albert Lee. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years and began to know the Lord. She moved her family to Houston, Texas in 1984 where she worked at Stewart Title in the Agency Accounting Department for 23 years.

Marilyn loved to sing and was the life of the party and devoted her time as a mother to her children making sure they were provided for. She was very crafty and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and giving back to the church and community. She also shared with others her love for down home southern cuisine and was an excellent cook.

Marilyn was the proud mother of three children and grandmother to three grandchildren. She treasured every moment in her role as “Goo-Goo” and showered her grandchildren with love and affection.

Marilyn is survived by her children Alliende (Ali) Lee, Stacy Lee, Tracy Bell, Roderick Bell, Sr. (Son-in-Law) and three grandchildren Roderick Bell, Jr., Roshawn Bell, and Roman Bell.
Her siblings Robert Lee, Georgia Anderson, Janice Dedrick, Nathaniel Lee, Shenevia Johnson, Beverly Kiel, Mary Wyatt, Robert Likely, Gregory Jackson, Denise Woods, Randolph Young, Judy Young along with a host of other family and friends she leaves behind and cherished. Deceased siblings Mary Nell Young, Maggie Dell Jackson, Clarence Lee, Jr., Leslie Lee, and Ruthie Spears.
