HONORING THE
Beautiful Life of
MARJORIE CASTER BOXLEY
“Nana”
“This is the day that the Lord has made,
we shall rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalms 118:24

Marjorie Caster Boxley, a lifelong resident of Mount Vernon, Alabama, was born on October 24, 1954 to the union of Reverend Nathaniel, Sr. and Mattie Lee Caster. She departed this life on Monday, July 24, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

Marjorie was a Citronelle High School graduate of the Class of 1973. She later furthered her education at Capps College of Mobile, AL. At USA Family Practice, she worked as a Medical Assistant/Lab Technician until her retirement.

Majorie was affectionately known as a strong, yet vibrant servant of God, with unwavering faith even in the midst of continuous health struggles. She accepted Christ at an early age as a member of Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church, later joining Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Within being a faithful member she served as a Red Circle Leader, Matron, Sunday School Teacher, Church Clerk, Deaconess, Choir Member, Food Ministry Worker and a Sunshine Avenue Learning Center Teacher.

Her love and dedication to her family and church family was undeniable, and she proved that every day. She encouraged her family in the Lord daily and wanted nothing more than for them to know and accept Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Nathaniel, Sr. and Mattie Lee Caster; and her brother, Byron Caster, Sr.

Marjorie leaves to cherish her precious memories, a loving and devoted husband, Deacon Curtis Boxley; devoted children: Terrestria (Marion) Critz and Pavonia Boxley; godson/nephew, Patrick (Latisha) Grant, Sr.; four grandchildren: Kirkland (Keanna) Boxley, Sr., Nicholas Boxley, Tyler Boxley and Kennedy Critz; one great-grandson, Kirkland “KJ” Boxley, Jr.; brother, Nathaniel (Barbara) Caster, Jr.; sister, Dianne (Willie) Peoples; brother/sister-in-laws: Gladys (Dr. Lionel) Cartwright, Rosa Boxley Moore, Ida Boxley Tibbs, Clarence (Winetta) Boxley, Janice Boxley Calhoun, Berthia (Rev.
