Obituary for Marquis Antonio "Peppy" Roper

Hey everybody, this me, Peppy, (Pepé Le Pew ) but I ain't no skunk, lol. My dad took one look at me and said I would be a lover, lol. They ended up giving me my gov'ment name of Marquis Antonio Roper when I was born on September 30th back in 1990; right here in Mobile, AL. Y'all know me as being an energetic, high-spirited, "I got your back", type of dude, and if you needed anything you knew you could call on me. Now, I loved life to the fullest, and cooking, was my thang. Now y'all know we have a big family so I was cooking like I was cooking for a whole Army, lol. But fo real tho', I loved cooking for my whole family, and don't give me no hot grease and a pot; it's fish and shrimp time then.
I enjoyed working too. I remember when I was working at Steiner Shipyard, and the motor in my car went out. Then I had to take a local job at McDonalds so I could save up enough money to get another motor to get back and forth to the shipyard.
Well, McDonalds wasn't paying enough, so I got hired as the Top Chef up here in Heaven because they heard so much about my cooking skills. And guess what? I didn't even have to put in an application. Y'all know the first customers I served were my dad, Willie Roper, Sr, my granny, Barbara Jones, and also my granddad, John Roper. They were so excited to see me, and they all said, we can get a home-cooked meal now.
Now, although I had to take a job far away from Mobile, I ain't gone never forget about my folks and I'm gonna miss all y'all; especially my loving and devoted mama Javay Jones, who they call Shell. I'm truly gonna miss my two beautiful daughters, Zikkiyyia (Zi) Roper and McKenzei (Kenzei) Denson, my handsome son, Jaycion Roper, and my brave lil man, Marcus Mosley.
Now I'm passing the torch to my three lil brothers to carry on and they are Willie Roper, Jr (BoBo) (Montoya), JaKore and JaKobe Jones. I'm asking that y'all look out for my lovely lil sister, JaLaia (LayLay) Jones.
Y'all know I love my devoted granddaddy Robert (Cynthia) Jones and my Uncle Reginald (Marva) Jones and they are from Mobile too. But my Nanny Joyce Jones moved to some place called Waxahachie, Texas, wherever that is. Oh, and I got some mo folks too and they are from my dad's side; they are grandma Jessie Pearl Roper, my aunts Pauline Rivers and Beatrice (Tina)(Larry) Roper-Pickens, and good ole Uncle Anthony Roper.
Now, I gotta say goodbye to my seven adorable nieces and nephews, Jace, Jaylee, Bentley, A'leayah, Jayden, Saliyah, and Samiya; I'm gonna miss watching y'all grow up. As y'all know I got a big family and it's a whole bunch of us and I can't mention all y'all, so I'm gonna send a shout- out to the rest of y'all.
Now y'all know I had some special folks in my life like my former loving wife Lakeshia Roper, and I can't forget my big brother Alvin Jones (AJ), and my homies CB James, and Andjuan Marquis Williams (Candyman).
So when y'all up this way, give ya boy a holler and maybe we can sit down and chop it up and I'll cook you a home-cooked meal!
Love y'all much,
PEPPY
