Martin Earl Cotten, son of the late Maurice Sylvester Cotten and Rebekah Arlissa Martin Cotten, was born on September 26, 1955 in Washington, D.C. He attended Gonzaga College High School before moving to Alabama and graduating from Tuskeegee University. Shortly after graduating, Martin began his 36-year long career at Syngenta, where he managed the chemical laboratory and quality control at plants across the country.
He was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Willie Ann Cotten, on August 26, 1989. Their union was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Solitayr Cotten and Rebekah Cotten.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Rebekah Cotten, his sister Linda Cotten, and his brother Marc Cotten.
Martin enjoyed exploring nature, perusing the aisles of grocery stores, and most of all, spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for his powerful voice, quick wit, extreme intelligence, calm spirit, and loving heart.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished and honored through the lives of his wife, Willie Ann Cotten; his daughters, Solitayr and Rebekah Cotten; his sister, Paula J. Martin; his niece, Veda Rajah, and a host of loving and devoted aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
