Obituary for Mary Frances Hightower

Mary Frances Hightower, affectionately called Frances, was born on August 14, 1949, a day she shared with her beloved nephew Joaquin Pruitt.
She departed this life for eternity on Friday, December 4, 2020.
A lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, Frances attended Bishop State Community College, receiving an associate degree in cosmetology. In addition to serving as a hairstylist/barber for over 30 years, she was an excellent chef, seamstress, and jewelry maker.
Frances entered a personal relationship with Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of R.O. Watts. She later became a member of The Love and Understanding Full Primitive Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. E. J. King where she enjoyed singing in the choir and attending Sunday School. Frances joined Prayer House Ministries under the direction of Rev. Billy King, where she was an active member of the Golden Age Senior Ministry until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Leon and Mary E. Hightower, a daughter, Sonya Hightower, and a granddaughter, Jaleesa Hightower; two sisters: Leonis Pruitt, and Gracie McMillian and one brother, Richard Hightower Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Terrance Hightower, a daughter, Alyssa Hightower, and three granddaughters: Renarda, Sanaa, and Assyria Hightower; two brothers: Phillip and Wendell Hightower; one devoted niece, Pamela Hinds; two loyal childhood friends: Voncecile May and Linda Sanders; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
