Our beloved wife and matriarch, Mary Liza Oliver, born April 18, 1947, in Jackson, AL transitioned this life for her heavenly home on July 16, 2020, in Mobile, AL, after a lengthy illness. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Mobile, AL. Mary was a devoted housewife and mother who loved everyone through soulful meals made with love, and occasional blessed handshakes. She was well traveled as she followed her Army enlisted husband, Charles, Sr all over the world. She became a resident of Mobile after her global travels to places like Germany, Hawaii, California and Virginia. Mary and Charles' house is known as the gathering place for their children, family and friends. Mary was a great mother, grandmother and great grandmother to those she nurtured and also to anyone who brought their child(ren) to her home. Even though she married at a young age, Mary did the best she could with what she knew best, which was to love unconditionally as Christ did. She was a die hard University of Alabama fan and looked forward to football season. Mary was preceded in death by her Mother, Willie Ann Clark; Father, Isaiah Anderson; and two brothers, . Jerry Anderson and Roy Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Charles, Sr., whom she had been with for 57 years. From this beloved union four children were birthed: Valarie (OR); Larry, Charles, Jr. and Ralph Oliver of Mobile, AL. She was surrounded by love through her 16 grandchildren: Curtis, Yvonne, Travis and Jordan Oliver, OR; Alexander, Corey (Tera), Keldon and Joseph Pender all of Mobile, AL; Tierra Williams; Davion Parker (TX); Kristen and Charley Burnett, Coniah DuBose, Dyllan Freeman, Kodey Moore of Mobile, AL; LyParis Tinsley and Brandon Hamilton of Mobile, AL; 17 great grands; Six siblings: Phyllis Kimbell, Fairburn, GA; Robert (Melinda) Anderson, Salt Lake City, Utah; Eartha (Willis) Sydnee, Mobile, AL; Theresa McKenzie, Boston, MA; Yolander (Hoover) Rivers, Alexandria, VA; and Marie Hall, St. Louis, MO; three sisters-in-law: Marion Campbell and Dorthy Mae Brown, Jackson, AL; and Dorthy (Al) Hanson, Clarksville, TN; devoted nephews, Bobby Anderson, Gulfport, MS; Gregory (Rosalind) Anderson, Fairburn, GA and David Kimbell, Texas; a forever daughter-in-love, Miranda Pender, Charlotte, NC; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and a very devoted and special friend, Mrs. Katherine Obie, Mobile, AL.
