On January 23, 2023, Mary Elizabeth Harper Weatherspoon took her
final breath and passed away into God’s grace, surrounded by loved ones.
The sun rose and the world welcomed her on October 20, 1937, a day the
world became a little brighter.
Mary Elizabeth was predeceased in death by both parents, Bennie
Harper and Rosina Harper; One son LaBaron Weatherspoon; One
grandson, LaBaron “Papi” Weatherspoon, Jr.; and two sibling Rosemary
Harper, and Barbara Ann Harper.
A warrior through life, Mary Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memories
five sons, Reginald (Martina) Weatherspoon of Atlanta, GA; Andre’
Weatherspoon, Maurice (Debra) Weatherspoon and Darrell Weatherspoon
all of Mobile, AL; and Edrick Weatherspoon of Oakland, CA; two sibling
Bennie Harper Jr., and Deloris Turner both of Los Angeles California;
seventeen grandchildren, John Weatherspoon, Jeremiah Weatherspoon,
Isaiah Weatherspoon, Regina Phillips, Andre’ Shinn, Alicia Shinn, Antoine
Shinn, Marius (Kennitta) Scott, Evan (Chanae) Weatherspoon, Rian
Weatherspoon, Darrian Weatherspoon, Myles Otis, Matthew Otis, Takara
Weatherspoon, Jayln Weatherspoon, Caitlin Weatherspoon, and Talib
Weatherspoon; three great-grandchildren, Zaden, Zoey and Joelle; three
loving caregivers, nieces Benecia (Johnny) Harper White and Sherita
(willie) Williams and friend DeEstra Moultrie; very devoted, aunt Johnnie
Bickham, cousin Emile (Lula Mae) Jenkins and Sharon Howard Pleasant;
and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
