Obituary for Michael James Ransom Sr.
Michael James Ransom Sr. was born April 11, 1961 to the late Isaac and Alexzean Ransom and departed this life on September 22, 2022. In 1979, Michael graduated from Shaw High School and further at his studies at the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa. He retired a lieutenant with the mobile police department where he served 27 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 27 years, Celita Ransom. He also leaves three children: one daughter, Brittany Ransom of Mobile, and two sons: Michael J. Ransom Jr. of Mobile and Joseph Ransom of Birmingham.
He is preceded in death by his parents Isaac and Alexzean Ransom, sisters: Lula Ransom George, Barbara Hall, and Lavinia Ransom; Brothers: James A. Ransom and Charles A. Ransom. He is survived by brothers: Isaac Ransom Jr., Willie D. Ransom (Mary Sue), Johnnie L. Ransom (Francisca Tangao); Sisters: Alice Hatter, Mattie L. Ransom and Sharon Ransom along with a host of brother and sister-in laws, nieces and nephews and a devoted friend Alfred (Thelma) Davis.
