Michael A. Simmons, an active member of Mount Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church (The Mount), Chesapeake VA; A highly respected, distinguished and decorated US Navy Veteran of 28 years retiring on June 30 2006. On April 28, 2008 he joined the civilian ranks at Military Sealift Command (MSC), Norfolk VA retiring October 10, 2020. Mike was born November 30, 1959 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Joseph U. Simmons and Mary E. Simmons and entered into eternal rest on January 08, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife, Regenia; a loving daughter, JeWanda; a granddaughter, Aliyah Simone; a loving godson, Jeremy Scroggins; a brother, Joseph Simmons; four sisters, Carolyn Nero, Joyce Simmons, Diane Johnson, and Bessie (Mosi) Watts-Ali; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A viewing will be held from 4-8pm Friday at Small's Mortuary, 950 S.
