Michael Tolbert, affectionately known to many as “Lil Mike.” A resident of Mobile, AL, begin his life July 20, 1966 in Thomaston, AL as the seventh child of Milton and Ida Tolbert. During his early years he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined Sidney Chapel AME Zion Church, Consul, AL. Michael began his new life with Christ on Friday morning, August 30, 2019. He was a graduate of Amelia Love Johnson High School, Class of 1984. He furthered his education at Bishop State Community College and was an employee of Local 559 for over sixteen years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Ida Tolbert; and one brother, Clarence Harris, Sr.
Michael leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife, Sonya Kirksey Tolbert; eight devoted children: Tameka Little, Tamara (Devin) English, Michael LeLand, Shymichael Kirksey, Romesha Kirksey of Mobile, AL, Migual Kirksey and Isaac Kirksey of Atlanta, GA, Brittany Odom of Birmingham, AL; fourteen grandchildren and a devoted mother-in-law, Agnes Kirksey; two devoted sisters: Shirley (Alfred) Hudson of McKinley, AL and Geraldine Burks of Mobile, AL; four devoted brothers: Johnny L. (Debra) Harris, Wayne (Betty) Harris of McKinley, AL, Jimmie L. Harris, Sr. of Mobile, AL and Melvin (Latonia) Jones of Chicago, IL; two devoted aunts: Louise Glasper of Mobile, AL and Lucille (Jack) Hector of Daphne, AL; one devoted uncle, Leslie (Carrie) Harris of Uniontown, AL; a devoted sister-in-law, Antonia (Terry) Thompson of Hiram, GA; a brother-in-law, Ira (Sandra) Kirksey of Dallas, GA; one devoted nephew, Jalal Harris; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, three devoted: Reuben Bolton, Harry Austin and Leroy Kyser.
