The Burial Rite and Holy Eucharist Services will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 1pm, with viewing and pre-funeral ceremonies beginning at 11am. Michael was born June 14, 1968 at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, LA as the third and youngest child of Morgan M. and Helen J. Watson. He was reared in Baton Rouge, LA and was baptized at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in 1975. He graduated from Scotlandville Magnet High School in 1986, and then attended Dillard University before transferring to Tulane University and graduating with a degree in Mass Communications and Journalism in 1990. He married Karlyn Greene in 1992, and to this union was born Kennedy Ayris, his pride and joy - whom he loved dearly. The early years of his professional career were spent in the New York-New Jersey area where he worked for Bell Labs, AT&T and Consolidated Edison, and in his own business venture, “Lest We Forget”, that provided supportive services to the funeral industry in that area. His last endeavor was establishing Watson Coach LLC as Founder & CEO of this independent Auto Dealership in Mobile, Alabama. Upon relocating to Mobile by way of Baton Rouge, he united with All Saints Episcopal Church. He was married to Daniel Davis in 2015 at his church. Michael was very active in his church, and loved dearly by his entire church family.
In addition to his spouse, Daniel Davis, he is survived by his daughter, Kennedy Ayris Watson; parents, Morgan M. and Helen J. Watson; brother and sister, Morgan M. Watson, Jr. (Jocelyn) and L’Tanga Watson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends, business associates, and schoolmates. Michael had a very outgoing personality, and was loved and respected by all who knew him.
