Obituary for Mildred M Lovelace (Nicholas)

Mildred Lovelace, a native of Mobile, Alabama, born July 18, 1934, exchanged life for eternity on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

She left Mobile, Alabama at an early age after graduation from Heart of Mary school to live with her aunt to further her education. She retired from the Chicago School System. She was a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Desmond Smoot.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ariel Lovelace, mother Melvena Smith, stepfather Major Smith, Sr., sister Gertrude Gamble, three brothers, Alphonse Nicholas, James Nicholas, Major Smith, Jr., and father Alphonse Nicholas.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Mark Lovelace and Ariel Lovelace of Arkansas; two sisters Christine Purnell and Geraldine Nicholas of Mobile, Alabama; brother, Lewis Lovelace; sister-in-law, Mary Felice (Patrico M. Toro) Lovelace Oneal, Merida, Mexico; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
