Minnie Chapman Noble Hudson, 75 passed away on November 19, 2019 with family by her side. Minnie was born on December 22, 1943 in Whatley, Alabama to the union of John Chapman, Sr. and Jessie Odom Chapman. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Maxcine Chapman.
Minnie was a retired educator in the Mobile County Public Schools for over 30 years. She was a graduate of Wilson Hall High School, Grove Hill, AL and Alabama State University. She was widely respected and deeply loved by her family and friends.
Minnie accepted Christ as her lord and savior at an early age at Indian Ridge Baptist Church. She passionately cared for and help to nurture her brothers and sisters. She was a faithful member of the Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church. She was a member of the Mission Ministry and the Pastors Aid Board Ministry where she immensely enjoyed the fellowship. She was also a past long time member of the Saint James Baptist where she served as President of the Combined Choirs and a member of the Mission Ministry.
Minnie leaves to cherish her memory a loving and dedicated family. She is survived by four brothers: Earl J. (Yvonne) Chapman, Jamaica, NY, Albert (Gloria) Chapman, Toledo, OH, Charlie (Ella) Chapman, Detroit, MI, John Chapman, Toledo, OH; 3 sisters: Brenda C. Street, Mildred Chapman, and Johnetta Jackson all of Mobile, AL. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
She will lie in state on Friday, November 22, 2019, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Small's Mortuary, Mobile. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Celebration of Life at Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church #2, 251 N. Lafayette St., Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in Indian Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Whatley, AL.
