Obituary for Mollie James Payne

Mrs. Mollie James Payne, a native of Choctaw Bluff, AL and a resident of Mobile, AL was born December 6, 1932. She departed this life on Monday, January 4, 2021.
She confessed Christ at an early age and united with the New Caanan Baptist Church and later united with the Amity Missionary Baptist Church. Mollie sung in the Mass choir along with serving on the Senior Citizen Board until her health failed under the leadership of Pastor Jeffrey L. Mackie.
Mollie was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Claiborne James, Sr. and Mrs. Irene Jones James; five brothers: R.B., George Lee, Charlie C., Sam and Claiborne James, Jr.; five sisters: Ante Mease James, Millie Mitchell, Dora McNeal, Fannie Johnson and Etta Brooks; two sons: R.L. Rocker and Alvin Rocker; and one daughter, Angelia Marie Rocker.
Mollie leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted daughters: LaCrisia Hawthorne, Annicer (Russell) Bendolph, Mollie (Missie) Payne and Anquaisha Hawthorne (a daughter she raised) all of Mobile, AL; devoted sons: Charles Rocker of Mobile AL, Keith (Acacia) Payne of Albany New York, Coley (Tia) Payne of Albany New York and Stinson (Temeka) Payne of Mobile Alabama; one brother, Eddie (Janet) James of Choctaw Bluff, Alabama; one sister, Willie Mae Nixon of Dallas, Texas; twenty grandchildren, thirty-three great- grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many other longtime friends.
