Moses Brown Jr., "Bro" - as he was affectionately known, was born December 17, 1955. He departed his earthly home on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. He was a long time employee of McPhillips Manufacturing Company for over 25 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Moses Brown Sr., two sisters, Marilyn Brown-Crump and Joyce "Joann" Brown. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and loving mother, Carrie Brown; three sisters: Barbara Valrie, of Semmes, AL, Dorothy Brown, of Des Plaines, IL., and Estella Williams, of Mobile, AL.; one son, Desmond (Latosha) Powell, of Houston, TX. One granddaughter, La'Niah Powell of New Orleans, LA; one uncle Robert (Icy) Marshall, three aunts, Matilda Sherman, Cornell Emanuel and Dorothy Hudson, all of Quincy, FL. Numerous of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. His remains will lie in state on Friday September 4, 2009 at Small's Mortuary from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2009 until the 11:00 a.m. funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Whispering Pines Cemetery. Dignified and professional services entrusted to Small's Mortuary.
