Obituary for Nedra Marie Purifoy (Andrews)
Our Heavenly Father opened his arms to receive a precious angel when Nedra transitioned peacefully from Mobile Infirmary Medical Center after a courageous fight.
Nedra attended both Blount High School and Toulminville High School, graduating with the class of 1973. One of her proudest memories was being a member of the Marching Rattlers Band. She continued her education in Bookkeeping at Carver State Technical College.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Calvin Purifoy,Sr.; her devoted mother, Lizziebell Andrews Hunt; devoted daughters Nichole Andrews Edwards and Shantell Andrews Kennedy; devoted sons Calvin Purifoy, Jr. and Derrick Purifoy, Sr. (Adrienne); devoted son-in-law, Christopher Edwards; devoted siblings Tyrone Hunt (Rose), Shelita Hunt Smith (Johnny), and Donetta Hunt Pickett (Joseph); devoted grandchildren Kristyn, Amoni, Mekiley, Autumn, Jordan, Kyndal and Derrick Jr.; devoted niece and nephews Andre Hunt, Joseph Pickett III, Royce Smith; devoted cousins Elizabeth Levins (George), Beverly Summerlin, Roderick Powe; a devoted uncle, Nelson Summerlin Sr.; devoted mother-in-Law, Callie Purifoy, devoted sister-in-laws, Alvra Brock; Lillie Purifoy; devoted brother in laws, Wilson Purifoy(Gwen); Phillip Purifoy(Dorothy) and a host of other relatives and friends.
Nedra was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Lula Powe Andrews; aunt, Isabell Andrews Summerlin; cousins, Geraldine Powe, Nelson Summerlin Jr., and sister, Vivian Hunt Chambers.
