Ollie Patrick Doss was born April 2, 1943 in Clarke County,
Alabama to Etta and Forest Patrick, Sr, and was a lifelong resident
of Mobile, Alabama. She departed this earthly life Wednesday,
July 6, 2022.
Ollie had a great love for family. At the age of seventeen, Ollie
undertook the monumental task of caring for her brother Charlie
and sister Lois who were ages ten and twelve respectively. She
remained Mother to both of them until the moment of her passing.
She was also a second mother to her nieces and nephews. Ollie
was a wonderful cook who loved seeing others partake in the
delicious meals she prepared.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Etta and Forest Patrick,
Sr.; brother, Forest Patrick, Jr.; sister, Marie Presnall; ex-husband,
Willie B. Doss; and sister-in-law, Margaret Patrick.
Many are fortunate to have been left with cherished memories of
Ollie. Among those are her daughter, Cathy Faye Doss;
granddaughter, LeKeitha (Cleon) Doss; great grandchildren, Jaida
B. Doss and Tariq’ Doss-Davis; brothers, Jim Patrick of Tavares,
FL, Charlie (Algene) Patrick and Kenneth (Jessie) Horn of Salem,
AL; sister, Lois (Lee) Braziel; devoted niece, Renee Snell and
cousin/friend, Louise Mitchell; a host of other loving nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
