Obituary for Ralph Eugene Miller Sr.

Ralph Eugene Miller Sr. was born May 7, 1945 in Selma, AL to Sylvester “Mack” McMillian and Eunice Miller Lee. He transitioned from time to eternity on January 20, 2020.
Ralph confessed Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Friendship Primitive Baptist Church.
Ralph was a proud graduate of R.B. Hudson High in Selma of where he often told stories of his school days. He went on to attend Carver State Technical College. From college, he worked at several jobs, but his career employer was Mobile Gas Service Corporation where he rose from the ranks of the janitorial department to the 1st Black Salesperson and, subsequently, the 1st Black Manager at the company. He served in this capacity until his retirement.
Ralph served the community through many different organizations. He was a graduate of Leadership Mobile. He served on the Board of Directors of Mobile Community Action, Dearborn YMCA, and the Prichard Chamber of Commerce.
Ralph had a passion for helping others. He often spent time serving Senior Citizens and other various groups through one of his favorite hobbies – cooking. He also loved to fish, to spend time with family and friends, and to play, hours upon hours, of computer games. Most of all, he enjoyed making others laugh and offering advice.
Ralph was preceded in transition by his father, Sylvester.
Ralph leaves to cherish his memory a loving mother, Eunice M. Lee, a devoted wife of 49 years, Mary Robinson Miller, two devoted children, Ralph (Taschet) Miller Jr. and Courtney (Raymond) McCall, three granddaughters, Kyra Miller, Trinitee McCall, and Nevaeh McCall, one sister, Sylvia (Phillip) Wilson of Clinton, MD, and host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
