Obituary for Regina Simmons Smith

Regina was born to the late Johnny and Ernestine Simmons on March 26, 1948 in Mobile, AL. She remained a resident of Mobile until she exchanged her life for eternal rest on Saturday, July 4, 2020.

Regina grew up in Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she remained an active member of New Shiloh until her health declined. She was a graduate of Central High School class of 1966. After graduating high school, she attended Bishop State Community College. She went on to work at Scott Paper Company where she retired after 30 (+) years. Regina loved spending time with family, reading her mystery novels, celebrating holidays (especially Thanksgiving and Christmas), and cooking food that touched your soul.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Tracy Simmons. She leaves to celebrate her life; husband and caring friend James Smith; two devoted and loving daughters, Porche Browne of Mobile, AL and Crystal Smith of Pascagoula, MS; four grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Terrell Simmons, Jailyn Smith, Destiny Browne and DonRico Browne; three dedicated sisters, Celeste Bronson, Janis Simmons all of Mobile, AL , Queen (Myron) Lambert of Woodbridge, NJ and a host of other family members and friends.
