Deacon Robert Lee Gordon, Sr. was born on August 29th in Fort Deposit, AL. A resident of Prichard, AL, for over 90 years. He was united in marriage to Lillie V. Taylor on November 29, 1941 for 65 years (who preceded him in death January 23, 2006.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Staff Sergeant. Mr. Gordon was the owner and operator of Gordon's Garage on Easterling St. in Prichard for over 70 years.
He was also preceded in death by two children, Robert L. Gordon, Jr. and Frankie Lee Gordon, two grandchildren, Wylie Smith, Jr. and Khadijah Sade Dates.
He leaves to cherish his memories three devoted daughters (care giver) Dorothy Harris, Faye Dates (Bobby) of Mobile, AL, Diane Adamson(Willie) of Columbus, OH, three devoted sons, Roscoe and Lorenzo Gordon of Prichard, AL. Charles Forrest, Anchorage, AK. 19 grandchildren, Robert L. Gordon, III , Ervin Harris, Roscoe Gordon Jr. , Terrance Gordon, Lorenzo Gordon, Jr. Franco Dixon, Vakeshia Gordon, Nicole Gordon, Franchesca Gordon, Willie Adamson, Natasha Dortch, Brandon Ford, Tunya Ragland, Chanae Forrest, Kimokea, John, Crystal, Johnqua, Jontesh Gordon. 13 great grandchildren. four great-great grandchildren. One sister-in-law, Inell Taylor, Cin., OH. four daughters-in-law; a host of other relatives and devoted friends.

His remains will lie in state on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 5-8pm at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 9-11am “Celebration Of Life” service at Cedar Grove MB Church, 210 West Clark Avenue., Prichard, AL. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
