Obituary for Robert Phillip McCall
Mr. Robert Phillip McCall Sr., better known by loved ones and friends as, Bobby, born December 7, 1955, a native of Mobile, Al, departed this life on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at his place of resident.
He accepted Christ at a tender age and united with the Nazaree Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. James Shelton, where he served on the junior usher board.
Robert was a graduate of Murphy High School, class of 1973. After working 41 years, he retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding, as well as from the National Guard with honors.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Lillie Bell McCall; father, Mr. Willie C. Cobb; brothers, Nathaniel McCall and Hubert Grissett; sisters, Ethel Marie McCall and Mary Ann Cobb.
Forever cherishing his memories are two devoted sons, Robert (Brandy) McCall Jr. of Atlanta, GA and Devoris (Chaka) Malone of Mobile, AL. One devoted daughter, Katrina (Michael) Davis of Mobile, AL. Eight loving grandchildren, Devoris Malone Jr., Jaleel Malone, Nolan Malone, Akeliah White, Zaiden Malone and three devoted granddaughters, Taylor and Torey McCall both of Atlanta, GA, and Mikayla Davis of Mobile, AL. Six sisters, two devoted, Frances McBride of Stoneville, NC and Sylvia Denson of Mobile, AL. Linda Rush, Boilingrock, IL, Kitty Moody, Irene Miles, and Nellie Allen, all of Mobile, AL. Two brothers, Robin (Maxine) Grissett and Alfred Grissett, both of Mobile, AL. A host of nieces, one devoted, Debra Parker; a host of nephews, one devoted, Seodis Walker; a devoted friend, Hattie McCall; a host of cousins, relatives, and friends; special ones, Fred Thomas and Earvin Simmons.
Arrangements provided by Small’s Mortuary 950 S. Broad Street Mobile, AL 36603. Viewing will be held July 24, 2020 at Small’s Mortuary from 5-8pm. Funeral services will be held at Small’s Chapel on July 25, 2020 at 2pm. Interment will be held at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, AL on July 27, 2020 at 12:30pm.
