Obituary for Rosa Mary Barnes

Rosa Mary Barnes affectionately called “Rose” was born on October 14, 1955, one of five children born to the late J.R. and Margarette Barnes.
Rose was a 1973 graduate of C.F. Vigor High School. She had numerous jobs in the surrounding area, including Legal Service, Mobile Arthritis Foundation, Gulf Regional Child Care Management Agency and USA Hospital.
She was a native of Mobile, Alabama and a resident of the Plateau area. She is a member of the First Hopewell Baptist Church.
Rose was preceded in death by two brothers: George Lee English and J.R. Barnes Jr.; and one sister, Geraldine Octavia Barnes.
Rose leaves to cherish her memories, three brothers: Lawrence Barnes of Riverdale, GA, Melvin Barnes of Atlanta, GA and Rufus Barnes of Mobile, AL; one devoted uncle, Melvin James; five aunts: Irene Barnes, Betty Jean Barnes, Desiree Barnes, Georgia Mae James and Minister Mag Barnes; five loving nieces: Kakilyoki (Chris) Napier, Frannecian Mose, LaShunda (Roosevelt) Robertson, Jeanetta (Jason) Kidd and Dreanetta Barnes; two nephews: Lawrence (Lashaunda) Barnes, Jr. and J. R. Barnes, III; four great-nieces: Takia Smith, Marieasia Robinson, Lauryn Robertson and Zaria Clanton; three great-nephews: Terry Smith, Jr., Kelvin Smith, Jr. and Jason Kidd, III; four devoted cousins: Annie Cheese, Nakithia (Keith) Thurmon, David Barnes and Cornelius Square; devoted friends: Brenda Maiben, Clyde Hall, Freddie Shepherd, Curtis Johnson and Gloria McCulley; a host of other relatives and friends.
