Obituary for Rosemary Austin (Seaton)

ROSEMARY SEATON AUSTIN was born July 22, 1944 in Jackson, MS to the late Willie and Mary Seaton. On Wednesday, July 17, at home with her family, she peacefully tranitioned to be with God.
Rosemary graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in Jackson, MS in 1962. After graduation she attended Dillard University in New Orleans, LA where she received a degree in English. While at Dillard she met her husband of 48 years, the late John T. Austin, Jr. She later attended Alabama State University where she received a Masters Degree in Counseling. She retired from the Mobile County School System with over 30 years of service. After her retirement from the Mobile County Public School System, she continued to work as a Counselor with the Upward Bound Program at Spring Hill College.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maysville. She served as a Religious Education Teacher, Lector and was active in various other ministries. She was also an active member of the Prichard Alabama Chapter of the St. Katherine Drexel Society.
She is survived by her devoted daughter and son in law, Dione and Belden Howell; cherished grandchildren Austin Tyler and Avery Rose Howell; two sisters in law, Beverly Carolyn Jones of Mobile, AL and Brenda (Clausell) Mathis of Montgomery, AL and close friend of over 65 years, Willie Ruth Thompson of Jackson, MS. Her memory will also be cherished by a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
