Obituary for Rosie Lee Johnson

Ms. Rosie Lee Johnson, a native of Greensboro, AL and a resident of Irvington, AL, was born from the union of Malachi and Indiana Johnson on January 12, 1955. She confessed her belief in the Lord Jesus Christ and joined the Freewater Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Primary Sunday School teacher. It was on February 28, 2020 that our Angel was called home to walk in eternity with the Lord. Sister Rosie was heaven sent, never spending her days longing and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She had a “Big” heart and her doors were always open to provide a listening ear and give a little advice.

Sister Rosie was preceded by her father, Malachi Johnson, Sr., mother Indiana (Honey) Johnson, and brother Eddie Johnson, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories three sons; Michael Durgin, Harold (Tianna) Johnson, Jr., and Gregory Johnson. Two daughters; Antoinette Johnson and Jasmine Johnson. Five grandchildren;
Michael Durgin, Jr., Alissa Johnson, Jada Johnson, Amare` Johnson and Taura Durgin. Seven brothers; Malachi (Juanita) Johnson, Jr., Lonnie (Frienzella) Johnson, William (Sandra) Johnson, Michael (Cora) Johnson, Sr., Abraham (LaQuita) Johnson, Thomas (Quneshia) Johnson all of Irvington, AL and Mack (Pricilla) Parker of Montgomery, AL. Six sisters; Doreathea Woods, Mary (Lester) Pittman, Annie (Earl) Guyton, Loretta (Roderick) Plainer all of Irvington, AL., Pecola (Joe) Quinnie of Mobile, AL, and Linda (Bruce) Wilkerson, of Atlanta, Ga. Two special cousins raised as brothers; Edwin Earl Woods and Everet Woods, a god-sister; Edna Bowie, three God-children; Takira House, Whitney Johnson, and Brandon Johnson. A sister-in-law; Joyce Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
