Obituary for Shelia Barney King

Shelia Wydenna Barney King was born June 28, 1959 in Coffeeville, Alabama to the late Deloyd Barney and the late Corean Barney. Following her graduation from Coffeeville High School as valedictorian of her class, Mrs. King attended the University of South Alabama. It was here that she met the late Billy Earl King. They soon and moved to Colorado where she pursued and achieved a Bachelor's of Science degree in Medical Technology from the University of Colorado. She completed technician training at Penrose Hospital prior to graduating from the University of Colorado. After completing her degree, she relocated back to Alabama, where she worked at USA Medical Center from June 3, 1985 until July 18, 2018 as a Medical Technician. She also worked from September 15, 1995 until December 3, 2005 at Mobile Infirmary. She resided in Mobile for the majority of her life, where her and Billy King were happily married for 40 years. She cherished and cared for him until his death on November 28, 2018. Mrs. Shelia King departed this life on Tuesday July 2, 2019 at Mobile Infirmary. She is preceded in death by her mother, Corean Pace Barney; her father, Deloyd Barney and her husband, Billy Earl King. She is survived by two loving sons: Romero and Orlando King; one loving daughter-in-law, Natasha King; two grandchildren: Malika and Katana King; a loving father-in-law, James Floyd King; one loving brother-in-law, James Jerome King; one loving sister-in-law, Sherry McDonald and a loving aunt and uncle, Mary and Frank Taylor; other relatives and friends.
